Established in 1909 The University of Queensland was the first and the oldest university officially founded on April 16, 1910 in Brisbane. Teaching at UQ began in 1911. In the first year of UQ's function, there were Arts, Science and Engineering faculty members which enrolled a total of 83 students (where 60 were men and 23 were women).
