Yes, you can apply for CTET Paper 1 only if you make sure that you meet the minimum teacher education requirement for Classes 1 to 5.

If we talk about Paper 1, CTET generally requires passing of Class 12 with 50% marks and also a 2-year D.El.Ed, or any certain equivalent teacher training qualifications.

But, since you have B.Ed, you are eligible for Paper 2 (Classes 6–8). But, the CTET notification also allows B.Ed grads to appear for Paper 1 only if they have undergone a short bridge course in elementary education after appointment.

In most cases, you cannot take admission in a regular B.Tech programme without having Mathematics in Class 12, because Maths is a core eligibility requirement for engineering courses. However, there are some exceptions. A few specialised fields like Biotechnology, Food Technology, or Agricultural Engineering may allow students from PCB (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) backgrounds, depending on the university's rules. But for streams like Computer Science, Mechanical, Civil, or Electrical, Maths is compulsory.

Merit secured in these examinations alone is used for selection. Candidates who meet both eligibility and entrance requirements are the ones considered for final admission.

While securing a seat in top NITs and IIITs is difficult, you may have a chance at some GFTIs (Government Funded Technical Institutes) or reputed state-level government colleges for less popular branches like Civil or Mechanical Engineering. For top branches like CSE, you should consider private engineering colleges.
