Visva Bharati College does have affiliated and constituent colleges, but BA courses offered at Visva Bharati University are through the university itself. On the other hand, Calcutta University offers BA courses through its affiliated colleges, which are more than 80 in number. Additionally, the number of seats offered in BA courses at Visva Bharati University is 978. On the other hand, Calcutta University offers a total number of 86,845 seats for BA courses.

Visva Bharati University offers BSc courses through one of its affiliated colleges, J.D. Birla Institute (JDBI), and from the university itself. On the other hand, Calcutta University offers BSc courses through more than 80 affiliated colleges. Therefore, Calcutta University has more affiliated colleges. Moreover, the number of seats offered by Visva Bharati University is 340, and Calcutta University offers a total number of 21,771 seats in BSc courses.

Admission to the M.Sc course at Calcutta University is done through both merit and entrance tests. The B.Pharm fee at Calcutta University for non-WBJEE admissions isn't publicly available. For reference, Jadavpur University's B.Pharm fee is INR 2,400 for the first year. Contact Calcutta University's admission office or visit their website for the fee structure.

Yes, Calcutta University offers over ten specialisations in BTech courses, for admission to all specialisations, the university accepts the WBJEE entrance examination except for BTech in Jute and Fibre Technology: For admission into the second year of BTech course
in Jute and Fibre Technology, the candidates should qualify JELET for lateral entry and should have any one of the following degrees: BSc with Physics/ Chemistry/ Mathematics, BSc in Textile and Clothing/ B.FAD or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering/ etc.

No, candidates are not allowed to get direct admissions to BTech courses at University of Calcutta. Students must pass the state-level entrance test, WBJEE, with a valid score in order to be admitted to Calcutta University's BTech program. Additionally, the candidate must fulfill the minimal requirements for eligibility, which include passing class 12 with a 50% cumulative grade. Students who qualify can complete the online form at caluniv.ac.in. Based on their entrance exam results, the university creates a shortlist of candidates and assigns seats.

MBA at Calcutta University offers MBA courses in full-time and part-time mode, the morning shift MBA courses are offered in full-time mode, two full academic years, which will include theoretical courses, project and dissertation work, divided into four semesters. Additionally,  evening shift MBA courses are offered in part-time mode, for three academic years, which will include theoretical courses, project, and dissertation work, divided into six semesters.

The duration of full-time MBA programmes at Calcutta University (day session): two full academic years, which will include theoretical courses, project and dissertation work, and divided into four semesters.

For part-time MBA programmes at Calcutta University: (evening session): three academic years, which will include theoretical courses, projects, and dissertation work, divided into six semesters.

Note: The classes may be held both in the day session and evening session depending on the availability of the resources.

The list of the documents candidates are required to attach the soft copy while filling out the online application form for admission to MBA at Calcutta University is as follows: 

  • Class 10 and 12 Marksheet
  • Proof of Age (Class 10 Admit Card/Certificate).
  • Aadhaar Card.
  • Certificate of SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B/PWD if applicable.
  • A photocopy of the duly signed application form. Candidates are required to bring the photocopy of the application form at the time of submission for acknowledgement
