For admission to Calcutta University MBA course, students need to qualify either CAT/ MAT/ XAT/ JEMAT entrance exams with a valid score. After qualifying the exam, the final selection is done through the GD and PI rounds.

At Calcutta University, MBA is offered across four specialisations. These are Marketing Management, Financial Management, Operations Management and System Analysis and Human Resource Management.

The separate data for Calcutta University MBA placements has not been disclosed. The NIRF report 2024 includes combined placement statistics for PG (2-year) courses. Out of 5,125 PG (2-year) graduates, 3,985 were placed during the University of Calcutta placements 2023. This makes the placement rate 78%. Earlier, 4,201 students were placed during placements 2022. The overall placement rate for PG (2-year) courses was 70% in 2022. The Calcutta University MBA average package is not out. However, the median package for PG (2-year) is out. The placement rate for PG (3-year) and PG (5-year) courses has been fluctuating over the past three years. On the other hand, the placement rate for PG (2-year) courses was the same in 2021 and 2022, however it increased in 2023. The University has not released the Calcutta University CSE average package or branch-wise placement statistics 2023 for BTech. However, as per the combined details available in the NIRF report 2024, a total of 199 students were placed during Calcutta University BTech placements 2023. The median package offered to BTech students was INR 10 LPA. Earlier, 305 BTech students were placed in 2022 and the median package stood at INR 9.20 LPA.
