A gap of 5 years is acceptable in Canada for PG courses. If there is a gap of 5 years and you want to pursue an undergraduate degree then there are some colleges that accept students with reasonable gap years.

In tier 2 or 3, youve to personally develop yourself and lookout for various courses related to your field and scope of that course, Its better to choose CS/IT from tier 2 or 3 colleges because there is no scope of ME/CIVIL/EC (the worst) and learn coding irrespective of your branch (read my other answers for detailed analysis). Also maintain a CGPA around 8.0 or above 75% in B.Tech to get in a good company or for applying for a better internship or college. The advantages are that 1st you will receive an international degree in Masters from there, plus they will provide you 1 year of job experience. As the visa gives you the 3 years which includes 2 years of study and 1 year for job.
