There is no strict age limit for applying for Canadian Permanent Residency. However, under the Express Entry system of Canada, age points peak in the 20 to 29 range and decline sharply after 30. Note that, younger applicants can have advantage over others.

Before you apply for a Canada student visa, make sure that your documents (academic, professional, and financial) are in order, and that your forms are duly filled without mistakes. In addition, make sure to prepare well for the visa interview. If you feel that might face rejection (which can happen to anyone), you can keep a backup plan to deal with any unforeseen event.

If your Canada student visa application faces rejection, it is advised that you find the exact reasons for the same with the help of GCMS or CAIPS notes.
Make required corrections in your profile and application and then reapply for it. You can reapply once you have made the necessary changes to your application. If you still face rejection, it is advised that you start looking for an alternative; such as changing your course or the country.

International students planning to study abroad in Canada, must show a minimum bank balance worth CAD 22,895 (INR 14.35 L) as of Sep 1, 2025.
This figure has increased from its previous one which stood at CAD 20,635 (INR 12.93 L) as a result of the Mark Carney led Canadian government's effort to reduce the number of illegal immigrants in the country.

Be aware of when your study permit for Canada is expiring. It is important to get it renewed in Canada atleast 2-3 months before it gets expired if a student wishes to extend his/her stay in the country. You will have to leave Canada if you don't get it renewed even after it has expired. While doing so please ensure that your passport is valid till the time of the completion of your studies.

Yes, they can. Also, till the time the study visa of the student is valid, the spouse can also apply for an open visa permit and work in Canada. But in case the spouse too wishes to pursue education in Canada, he or she will have to obtain a separate study visa. Those who possess a student visa are also permitted to get their dependent children to the country. They can then stay till the time their study visa is valid.

Length of PGWP Canada depends on the length of your academic programme. Your programme must be of at least 8 months in duration. Students must note the following points:
- If your programme is between 8 months and 2 years, then PGWP will be valid for a duration that will be equal to the duration of the programme.
- If your programme is of 2 years or more in duration, then PGWP may be valid for 3 years.
- If you have completed more than 1 programme, then both of them must be eligible for PGWP and must be at least 8 months in length. In such a scenario, the lengths of the programmes can be combined.
