Journalism as a career is an attractive option for youngsters especially for those who have a flair for writing and communication and wish to do something for the society.
Journalism has nothing to do with changing the world- as is always believed- it is only a medium between the world and the common man.
It is for people who are ready to explore various opportunities 24/7, without any constraints.
In short the person should be:
Good in language and vocabulary
Updated with current affairs
Efficient in meeting deadlines
Quick in responding to happenings
Keen interest for news
Outgoing

Hello Ranjan,
After doing B.Sc in chemistry, botany and zoology, you can pursue M.Sc in any of these subjects. You can also think of doing your B.Ed; which will make you eligible for teaching in high schools. The options are vast and many. Once your post graduation is done prepare well for you NET/JRF/SLET; qualifying which will make you eligible for lectureship. After B.Ed, if you also do your M.Ed, you will be eligible for teacher training institutes. You can also think of studying genetics or other super specialized fields like plant anatomy, physiology, floriculture, neurobiology, biotechnology and biochemistry.

Hello Kiran,
Thank you for thinking of a career in hotel management. If you want to do from IHMs, you have to take the JEE of NCHMCT. You can visit their website for more details.
You have lots of options in private colleges. But wherever you do, you should have the right attitude, aptitude and communication skills to be successful.

After completing your graduation with BA History, you can go for civil services exams conducted by UPSC. Other than this, you can go for PhD to pursue lecturership which is also a very decent and well-paying job. For this, you can do Masters in History and after that, you can go for UGC NET exam.

UGC NET is an exam for those who are willing to pursue their career as a lecturer or willing to go for research in their respective fields. For research, the government provides a fellowship of INR 35,000 per month (approx.) for those who qualify this exam with good marks. Hello Ankit,
I think after 12 years of work experience, you yourself are best suited to give advise. I feel you should do some executive MBA course from one of the IIM's.

Hello Praneeth,
It's a dilemma faced by almost all students. But let me confess. Each and every subject has potential if you are willing to work hard. I would advise you to ask yourself as to what is your passion? What subject interests you? You must pursue graduation in this subject only.
