There are ample of options for students who are pursuing library sciences as a profession. Librarians, today, are not only the information providers but also make sure that the information in the library is systematically organized and updated from time to time.
While entering the field, the position of Assistant Librarian is offered and so gradually they can work their way upward to the post of Librarian. Well qualified candidates of the field can look for a job at schools, colleges, universities, public and government libraries, private libraries, news broadcasting agencies, academic institutions, and many more. There is also the option of applying to galleries, archives, museums, and documentation centers. These days there are private publishing houses and statistical research centers which also require graduated of this field. Some experienced librarians work independently as service providers.
Pay Scale
Like most other fields the remuneration of a librarian will depend upon their qualifications and experience. Librarians working in government sectors can earn an average income with incentives although the job is better paying in the private sector.

This course of study consists of a very strong selection of courses and an honors thesis. It is designed to give individual highly-motivated students an especially strong foundation in modern statistical reasoning.
Recognition for completion of this program is entered on the student's permanent Washington University record.
The course and thesis requirements of the Honors Program in Statistics can also apply toward earning the A.B. degree with Latin Honors, but Latin Honors are not automatic. For Latin Honors, all the Latin Honors requirements (for example, math and overall GPA) must be satisfied as well.
The department can assist students in the program with finding an opportunity for a practicum, which consists of hands-on field work under the supervision of a professional mentor - either a faculty mentor or a mathematical scientist in industry or at a government research facility. For example, students can undertake a practicum with Washington University faculty in the mathematics department, at the medical school, or in other Arts & Sciences departments such as biology, economics or psychology. The practicum can be a major asset in job hunting or graduate school applications.Yes,why not,there is wide and vast scope of geology in India as well as other countries.If you complete you Bachelor's degree in geology ,you will have lots job option in the following departments:
1.Statistical department
2.Weather and forecasting
3.Oil and natural gas
4.Geological survey of India.
5.Research and teaching institutions: where there is need of geological experts.
If you are interested in government sector ,you can go for the Geologists exam conducted by the UPSC.
