Candidates wishing to enter the navigational and engineering fields of Merchant Navy need to complete their B.Sc. degree in mechanical or marine engineering, before they can gain admission to the field. In some cases, students who have completed their 12th with PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) are eligible to join as Deck Cadets. Navigating Officers - Candidates will need to obtain a Certificate of Competency, as per the regulations in India relating to the examinations of Masters and Mates. Conducted by the Ministry of Surface Transport, in association with the Directorate General of Shipping (DGS) Mumbai, the examinations help determine the promotion prospects for the officers. For training, the best training institution for the navigating officers is the T.S. Chanakya. Candidates who qualify from here, that is complete their first certificate of competency of Second Mate, need to go through a three year training in Nautical Science (B.Sc.) and then complete a year's duration of practical training in the deck department of a merchant ship.Selection is based on the Joint Entrance Examination given by the IIT; a merit list is prepared after the written test and interview are completed and the Director General of Shipping has the authority to chose which of the 2 training programmes the candidate is best suited for (students can let their preference be known) Both the T.S. Chanakya and MERI institutions do help (under no Government obligations) in recruiting their graduates in suitable Indian Shipping Companies.As far as remuneration and other benefits are concerned Merchant Navy is one of the few careers where the salary is relatively high. The pay is definitely different from company to company, depending on the city, country, export and import needs, seniority etc.

Bachelor of Computer Science requires a candidate to have passed HSC (10 + 2) exam from any stream with English as passing subject with minimum 45% marks at 12th standard.
Difference Between BTech and BSc:-
B.Tech. is a professional Bachelors' degree program whereas B.Sc. is only an academic Science graduation course. B Tech stands for Bachelor of Technology whereas B.Sc. is Bachelor of Science. Since B Tech is an engineering graduation, B Tech students have to study the vast techniques involved in a particular subject. They have to study about the processes involved in designing new instruments, techniques or programs, which comes under their field of study. On the contrary, B.Sc. graduates may have to study the working principles about an instrument or a process that is included in their curriculum.
Duration of B Tech and B.Sc. programs:-
Although both these are graduation programs, B Tech is a four year duration course. Aspirants can complete the B.Sc. programs within three years. Engineering colleges offer the B Tech programs whereas aspirants have to pursue the B.Sc. programs from Science and Arts colleges.
Key differentiators:-
Even if B Tech and B.Sc. graduates have taken same specializations, B Tech students may have in depth knowledge about the construction, designing and other internal mechanisms concerned with a subject. However, B.Sc. students may only know about the theoretical and practical applications of the instruments, equipments or processes in their field of study.

The company secretary profession is one of the respected jobs in the society.
There are number of government organizations that recruit efficient company secretaries. The remuneration for in government firms are higher compared to the private sectors. A fresher in this field can earn from Rs.20, 000 per month. It will increase according to their experience and skills. In addition to these they will also get perks and facilities. Some of the government organizations which recruit company secretaries are ONGC, BEML, Airport Authority of India, State Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited, Neyveli Lignite Corporation Limited and various banks.

Kshipra, If you're creative, you can always consider going for Design and Animation. This is a field where nobody cares for your qualification, they only see if you can do quality work. A good mentor and wise selection of courses with a good school, followed by diligent learning, would get you a head start in your career. However, you must check your suitability for this field. Himanshu, There are several careers in media in writing, production or post production. you can become a reporter, actor or getting behind the camera to direct, cinematograph or do finishing work as an editor, compositor or a VFX artist who can add reality to 3D vizualizations. you may even be a graphic artist who designs the screens, or an animator who brings stories to life as a proxy actor for onscreen characters. you can get into production, whether live or animated. You can be a story writer who writes for live and animated screens or even roll the story into a video/ pc game. you can be a script writer who would stop at nothing to give wonderful scene setups to bring the story to life. you could be an artist who designs characters or who storyboards the film for live or animated performance. you can also double up as a voice over artist who gives his/ her voice to the characters or dub for movie stars, or even be a radio star. you can alternatively look at web for a web of careers in web design, online marketing, search engine optimization, content writing, social media promoting. Any extra skill can be used in this. So it turns out to be one of the most challenging as well as satisfying careers. Sure not recommended for the weak hearted.
