Some schools accept gap years, but for appearing in an interview, more weightage is given to the work experience. Some candidates prepare for this exams along with their respective jobs. So, that's why most of the big firms don't consider this gap year for preparation as a valid reason.

The fee structure is expensive, you have to pay 45000 as college fee which is expensive then in any other college, if you from KCET, it will cost you around one lakh, or of you, from pass. It will cost you up to three lakhs. For management seat, it is different for all the branches.

Here are two things to keep in mind:
The problem reading time must be reduced. You should be able to read a question and translate it into variables and/or diagram/equation at one shot. Most students read a question slow/multiple times with an intrinsic fear of getting it wrong otherwise. Practice reading fast. We seldom realize that toppers save half the time in reading and understanding the questions faster than others. The problem solving time can be reduced. First of all, both CAT and GMAT have different patterns. Although, both measure a person's abilities like Quantitative and verbal, but the content differs. GMAT is an adaptive test, which means as you answer the question right, a harder question will be given to you and if you answer wrong, a question easier or equal to your last question will be given. You can move forward only if you answer the current question. Whereas, CAT is a linear test where questions are numbered and you can go back and forth anytime and choose which question you want to answer first. Having work experience and being a fresher have their own advantages and disadvantages, so it doesn't make much difference. Yes, the work experience people might come up with a solution to a problem, they have actually faced in their work life by the same can be done by a fresher, if they are avid readers. Yes, you can get into an IIM if you don't have work experience a good every year are fresher's and if the interviewer finds you fit, you'll have a very good chance.
