In order to be eligible for applying CAT, you need to have a minimum of 50% in your class 10th and class 12th and 45% for reserved categories. So, in that case you will be ineligible to apply even. Also, the CAT scores will not be where you will reach.

It depends on your category. If you are a general category student, you need to score upwards of 99 percentile to get an interview call.

Since you have experience in IT, it would be worthwhile to explore business analytics, which is very upcoming field with lots of scope in future. There are options like JIMS, Kalkaji, New Delhi offering Business Analytics as specialisation.

Getting a good score in CAT will give you ample opportunities from different MBA colleges. You will get calls from different colleges and then you will get an opportunity to sit for the GDPI for the respective colleges. Good luck.

After getting a good percentile in CAT, the IIMs where you have applied looks at your profile, and they judge you on the basis of your class 10th, class 12th, undergraduate, CGPA marks. Weightage given to CAT is around 30-50%. Based on an overall score and CAT score, you may be called for a personal Interview, after which the deciding factor in selection will be mostly the interview performance.
