The average cutoff ranges from 96 percentile to 99 percentile for IIMs. This is just an estimate as the IIMs can change the cutoffs as per there will.

CAT is just one of the many exams that will help you in getting admission to a good college for MBA. Other options available for you are MAT, SNAP, XAT, etc. But, if you are targeting IIM, then CAT becomes a requirement.

Some universities which are very highly placed in ranking offer a tough competition. If you opt for such a university, any problem is a major problem. Same goes with placements also. When you aim high, you can't take any risk.

There is no definite published syllabus for CAT examination. Students are tested for their general aptitude by questions on Quantitative Aptitude, Verbal & Reading Comprehension and Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning. This testing system is existence for many years and IIMs have not indicated formally or informally any change on it pattern of examination in recent past, therefore, you cam assume that it will remain same for CAT 2022 also.

80 percentile and above would be a good score to get a call. Conversion solely depends on how you perform in the interview
