Hi,
Preparation for CAT required good amount of time & efforts.
Its not so easy to get prepared for the exam.
There are books for CAT from R S Agarwal, Arihant Publications, Arun Sharma etc. will be helpful.
Do go for CAT coaching as it helps you more than self study.
They provide you mock tests, study materials to enhance you in preparing well for the exam.

Hi,
If you belong to OBC category, minimum cut off required to get a call from any of the IIMs is 80 percentile & above.
It is not that easy to prepare for CAT in a rush. You have to take as much time you want to so as to prepare the best for it.
It you are very fond of getting admission in a top college, you better try CAT 2017. Till then you can prepare & score well by joining a CAT coaching Institute, do mock tests provided by them & make use of their CAT study material to improve yourself .
You can try this year's CAT also, so that you get a clear understanding to find out how to prepare for CAT 2017.

If you score 99 to 100 percentile in CAT, you will surely get a call but most of the IIMs require good educational background. You can try for other IIMs if you not getting call from IIM A, B, C.
