Hi Ankita,
For applying in microbiology honors at St. Xavier's College, Kolkata you must have minimum of 60% in aggregate. The cut-off for this course are around 90%+ every year.
Your compulsory subjects are:-
a) Maths
b) Chemistry
c) Physics
d) Biology.

Not now. You need a graduation degree to appear for IAS exam. Diploma is not considered equal to a degree. You can, however, pursue B.A. or B.Tech after Diploma and then you will be eligible. You can also pursue a distance course with Diploma.

Placement is given on the basis of skill and not on the basis of marks. However, the interviewer may at some point during the interview ask about your low grades, at the moment he is not specifically looking for your reason but rather your response. So, react positively and give a good reason. He will be satisfied.
