Admission Process for B.Tech in Marine Engineering:

If you want to pursue a career in networking then there are two ways to do it:
1. Do specialization in computer networking by doing PG from IISc, IIT, NIT, etc. After completing PG, you will get a chance to work with networking giants like Cisco, Orange, Juniper, etc. Here you can get a chance to work in their R&D department. (Here you work as a researcher).
2. Another way is that you can enter into this field by obtaining vendor certifications like CCNA, CCNP, CCIE (Cisco track) or JNCIA, JNCIP, JNCIE (Juniper track), etc. By following this certification track, you will be able to design, install, configure and troubleshoot small to the large-sized network. This is also a good choice to enter in the networking field. (Most people follow this).
Now, the choice is yours, whether you want to become a researcher in networking field or to become a network professional.
Both ways are good. Ask yourself and decide which path to follow.

Well, I think I can answer your question since I too faced the same scenario years before.I'll try to keep it short and simple.
Image of a Doctor: You can do a lot of social welfare work. You are kind of god wherever you live. You will be in the good book of many people. Respect will follow you everyday everywhere. There is no doubt about it.
Image of an engineer: You will not find respect, you will have to earn it by doing something worthy and extraordinary. You are just an individual. You may or may not get a chance to work directly for the welfare of the people. Chances are less. But let me tell you any social service is worthy of respect and honor. But the medical servants own a little more because they are people who save lives.
Personal life of a doctor: It is hectic, painful and stressful. Imagine yourself fighting death every day and saving lives and sometimes failing which takes a toll on you. It scrapes away your soul unless you are strong hearted. Hospital is not a fun place.You have to have a lot urge in you to become a doctor and must be willing to sacrifice your fun, pleasure many a time. As for the money, you will start earning at a later age and can keep earning until your old age. You have to be a lot more studious, diligent and hard working.
Personal life of an engineer: It is all fun & pleasure and doesn't have to be under a Damocles sword all the time. You know your negligence or failure won't be taking a life. Besides engineering life is very enjoyable. You can give time to your family.You will be capable of earning early of the age and can also earn at par with a doctor.

Besides, you must understand yourself what you want and what you are willing to sacrifice whatever the cost.

Hi there, For pursuing a career in Theoretical Astronomy/observations, you can do B.Sc. In Physics and /or Mathematics after 10 + 2. Masters level course in Astronomy with specialisation in Theoretical Astronomy is offered by various institutes and universities. To pursue a career in Instrumentation/Experimental Astronomy, you can do Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Electrical / Electronics/Electrical Communications, after 10 + 2. Then you can appear for the Joint Entrance Screening Test JEST examination, which makes one eligible to do specialisation in astronomy leading to Ph.D. A professional astronomer also takes courses in microelectronics & instrumentation.
