To become a scientist with NASA or ISRO, one needs not be an engineer. These agencies recruit experts from almost all branches. Physics, chemistry, metallurgy, etc., including different engineering branches.

It is a bad idea. India is the best to country for your higher education. It will be difficult for you to adjust.

There are few good universities that accept JEE Mains scores like Thapar University, Punjab Engineering College, Delhi Technological University and NSIT.

If you want to become an engineer you have to be strong in maths because maths is the base of engineering. Yes, there is slightly less maths in CSE branch as compared to other branches but maths exist here as well. So try to make this portion strong.

JEE exam is only for admission to NITs and central funded university and if you have not crossed the cutoff then you can't get admission in type of colleges but for admission in other colleges you have to appear in the exams organized by these colleges.
