It depends on the admission process followed by the institute. If there GD/PI process it can have significance but if it is through DTE then it won't have weightage. The admission and selection process is still being finalized. Please check the website for updates.

You can go for B.Sc followed by Ph.D. You can also try to clear JRF ET after completing M.Sc. If you are interested in engineering or medical sciences, then you can opt for medicine/ engineering, and then you can go for research in the same.
