As you mentioned CBSE, therefore, I am considering that you seek admission in BE/B.Tech.
For admission in NIT, you need to have minimum 75% marks in class 12th.
For admission in Thapar University, the eligibility criteria is as follows-
Minimum 60% marks in class 12th and at least 20% aggregate marks in JEE Mains 2017.
Or
At least 80% marks in 10+2 or equivalent examination with at least 15% aggregate marks in JEE mains 2017.

Don't worry. Just be on the lookout at notice board of your school or college. Schedule of examination is announced almost simultaneously. But study well this time at least.

If you would get pass Mark sheet and having admission letter or Notice of particular university in desire programme which you want to pursue (You should meet the eligibility of the University) and then only you can apply for Education loan.

So, if you fail to pass in one subject among your all subjects, then you can give compart exam but if you fail in more than one subject, you are declared fail.
My friend, if you are afraid that you would fail in chemistry, be cool if you have attempted all the questions.
Be strong and wait for the result.
