The candidate must note that IIT Bombay is only responsible for conducting the CEED Entrance exam. Unlike UCEED, it will not conduct any Joint Seat Allotment.

This means the eligibility criteria prescribed by IIT Bombay is limited to appearing in the CEED 2026 exam. Further, the participating institutes of CEED 2026 will individually determine the eligibility criteria for the M.Des courses. The eligibility criteria will be uploaded on the admission portals of these institutes.

The eligibility criteria for appearing in the CEED 2026 exam is prescribed by IIT Bombay. The criteria are outlined in the information brochure. The candidate needs to carefully go through the criteria and only apply for admission if they meet the requirements.

Note that if the candidate fails to meet the CEED 2026 eligibility criteria, he or she could be disquafied at any stage of the admission process. Also, the participating colleges will have a document verification session, where all documents will be cross-checked.

The result of CEED 2026 will be prepared by giving weightage to the Part A and Part B sections. Part A will carry 25% weightage, whereas Part B will be worth 75% weightage.

CEED FINAL Score = 0.25 x (Marks obtained in Part A) + 0.75 x (Marks obtained in Part B)

Note that it is mandatory for candidates to qualify for Part A to be included in the CEED 2026 merit list. In case the candidate fails to qualify for Part A, his or her Part B answer booklets will not be evaluated.

You can start preparing for CEED exam by following the below steps:

  • Understand CEED exam pattern and syllabus well.
  • Note that the CEED syllabus has been revised for both Part A and Part B.

Some experts suggest that you skip your GA preparation for now. Instead, you can start preparing for the section 45 days or so before the exam. The logic is, GA is more about theory than anything else. So, even if you must the subject now, you will have to do thorough revision closer to the exam to remember all the points.

Also, you need not bother about the interview now. That part will be important only after the results are declared.

Candidates have the option to enroll in a coaching center to prepare for CEED 2025. But by no means is coaching is a sure-shot route for success. In fact, it is far from it. If you pick up any statistics, only a very small percentage of students who get enrolled in a coaching institute manage to crack CEED. The reason being, a coaching class is attended by a large number of students. Now the coaching centre won’t be able to or may not pay attention to the needs of each student individually. The result being most of the students are left to fend for themselves. This means, if your fundamentals are not strong or you manage to be in

The natural instict in such a case will be to give a few more attempts. You can also try a few attempts. But after that move on to the next topic. Also, don’t spend prodigious time on one simple topic, because otherwise you will run out of time and will not be able to complete the entire syllabus.

If you leave out a few difficult topics now, you can always tackle them later on if you have time left.

Further, completing the entire syllabus may be a daunting task for many.

While text books should be the primary resource for CEED 2024 exam preparation, there are other resources the candidate may use effectively. For instance, YouTube has many educational and preparation videos that the candidate can refer to.

To identify the quality and genuineness (or correctness) of the data, you can go through the video reviews. In some cases, the review section may be hidden. In that case, you better stay away, as it is difficult to determine the quality of the content.

Also, refer to instructors or educators with a large number of followers or subscribers.
