CEED Participating Institutes 2027 - There will be around ten participating institutes in CEED 2027. These institutes will consider CEED 2027 scores for admission to their M.Des and PhD courses. The participating institutes have an intake of around 302 seats for the M.Des program. IIT Bombay will not conduct a Joint Admission for CEED-participating institutes

To apply for CEED, you have to register, upload the CEED 2027 scorecards and other mandatory documents, and submit the form. The institutes will conduct personal interviews and other processes. Candidates who are assigned a merit rank in CEED Exam can apply for admission. The participating institutes will then make a merit list and shortlist candidates for admission.

The cut-off marks for CEED 2026 is 39.35 and 16.89.  Mean and standard deviation for Part-A (CEED 2026) are 39.35 and 16.89, respectively.

Q:   When will the admission cut-off of CEED be released?
A: 

The cutoff for CEED Admission is expected to be out after the release of the CEED result and scorecard. CEED result and Scorecard will be used for CEED Admission in various IITs.

Q:   Is the number of CEED participating institutes constant?

IIT Bombay declares the names of the CEED participating institutes at the time of the release of the admission notification or sometime thereabout. Also, the number of participating instittutes may change from one year to another. So, we can’t say that the number of participating institutes is fixed.

In fact, IIT Bomaby in consultation with the member institutes decides the list of participating institutes. Note that the IIT Bombay conducts a Joint Seat Allotment Process for the participating institutes. Also, participating institutes can only use CEED scores for admission purposes.

Q:   When will the CEED 2027 exam be conducted?

IIT Bombay will conduct the CEED 2027 exam on January 17, 2027 from 9 AM to 12 PM. 

Q:   How to apply to a CEED participating college?
A: 

The CEED participating institutes will open the application form for counseling on their respective official admission portals. The step-wise admission process to the M.Des programme is given below:

  1. Candidate needs to check CEED results.

  2. Candidates who have qualified CEED exam, or have been assigned a merit rank are eligible to apply to a CEED-participating institute.

  3. Participating institutes will start the counseling application form soon after CEED results are declared.

  4. Candidate who have qualified CEED exam and also meets the eligibility criteria prescribed by the participating institute need to fill in the application form before the last date.

  5. Participating institutes will shortlist applications based on the merit rank of the candidate.

  6. The institute may also conduct further admission rounds before final seat allotment.

CEED 2027 Result-sharing institutes

The difference between CEED 2027 result-sharing colleges and participating colleges is that the result-sharing institutes will also use scores of OTHER entrance exams to fill some of their M.Des seats. However, the participating colleges will only consider CEED 2027 merit ranks for admission purposes. To give you an example, IIT Delhi will not accept NIFT or NID scores for admission to its M.Des program. However, if you are applying to a result-sharing institute, it may also accept scores from other exams.

Q:   How are CEED result sharing institutes different from participating institutes?
A: 

The participating institutes of CEED will offer admission to the M.Des courses based on CEED scores only. They will not accept scores of other entrance exams for admission process. Also, IIT Bombay will conduct a Joint Seat Allotment Process or Counseling for the participating institutes.

On the other hand, result-sharing institutes will not participate in the Joint Seat Allotment Process. Instead, these institutes will conduct counseling at an institute-level. This means, the candidate has to apply directly to these institutes based on their CEED scores. Another thing is result-sharing institutes will allocate only a fraction of the seats for CEED qualified candidates. 

Q:   Do all CEED-accepting institutes have the same admission process?
A: 

No, each institute has its own admission process, even though they accept CEED scores. Generally, CEED admission process includes

  • Shortlisting of candidates based on CEED scores
  • Institute-specific written tests or assignments (varies by institute)
  • Personal Interview (PI) or portfolio review
  • Final selection based on overall performance

Candidates should check the official website of each institute for specific details.

Q:   Can I use my CEED Scorecard to get admission in 2026 Academic year?
A: 

No, you cannot use your CEED 2025 scorecard to get admission to 2026 academic year. The scorecard is valid for one year from the date of issue.

Eligibility Criteria for Admission to CEED Participating Institutes

The candidate needs to meet the criteria given below.

  1. A valid CEED 2027 score
  2. A passing grade in the qualifying degree 

Eligibility Criteria for CEED

  • Candidates must have completed a degree/diploma/post graduate degree programme of minimum THREE years (after 10+2 level), or
  •  Must be appearing for the final examination of such a programme by July 2026, or
  • Must have passed the GD Arts diploma programme (10+5 level) by July 2026

The candidate must visit the website of the participating institute directly to get any other specific admission criteria.

Qualifying degrees (As per information released by IIT Jodhpur)

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Design/Engineering/Architecture/Interior Design: 10+2+4 years (minimum four-year Bachelor’s course). Note: B.Plan. considered equivalent to B.Arch. Four-year B.Sc (Engg) course after HSC is considered equivalent to BE/B.Tech.
  • Professional Diploma in Design: 10+2+4 years (minimum four-year diploma program).
  • BFA (4 Year professional program with entry after 10+2).
  • GD Art (4-year program after 1-year foundation. Minimum entry requirement 10th pass). Additionally, one year of professional experience in design areas is required.
  • Master’s Degree in Arts, Science (3+2 years program with entry after 10+2).
  • Master’s Degree in Computer Application (3 years or 2 years in case of lateral entry to the second year after the BCA program with entry after 10+2+3 years for graduation).

Q:   If I fail to qualify Part A, will I be issued the CEED scorecard?
A: 

The scorecard of CEED will be issued to all candidates who appear in the CEED exam. So, even if you have failed to qualify Part A, you can download the scorecard.

But note that in this case, the scorecard will only include qualifying status and Part A marks. Part B marks, Total marks and merit ranks will only be issued to qualified candidates. Candidates who have been assigned a merit rank can participate in the counseling process conducted by participating institutes.

Q:   When will the application form for CEED 2027 open?
A: 

CEED 2027 applications will open from October 1, 2027. The application had to be filled online at CEED portal. The candidate can apply with both regular and late fees.

Q:   Can I apply for Joint Seat Allocation for admission to M.Des programme based on CEED scores?
A: 

IIT Bombay will not conduct any Joint Seat Allotment process for CEED qualified candidates. Instead, the candidate will have to apply directly to any or all of the eight participating institutes for admission. Note that IIT Bombay conducts a Joint Seat Allotment process for UCEED.

To get admission to a CEED participating institute, the candidate needs to go to the admission portal of the institute and fill in the counseling registration form. The registration form will open soon after the CEED results are declared.

How to apply to a CEED Participating Institute?

Aspiring designers use their CEED results to apply for Master of Design (M.Des) programs at top institutes in India. The Application process has begun at several institutions for the upcoming academic session. Interested candidates should check the institutes' official websites for complete admission details.

Steps to apply to Participating Colleges of CEED

  1. Candidates who have qualified CEED 2027 Exam should submit an Application form in the participating college.
  2. Candidates will be shortlisted for the next round by the institute. The next round will be an online interview.
  3. Submit the portfolio and appear for the online interview.
  4. Result will be declared for the selected students who have cleared the interview, and they will be asked to submit the fee and complete the formalities.

A: 

No, IIT Bombay will not send the hard copies of CEED Scorecard. The scorecard of CEED will be issued only in online mode. The candidate has to download it from the CEED admission portal - ceed.iitb.ac.in. To download the scorecard, log in by entering your email id and password.

The participating institutes of CEED are colleges that will offer admission to the M.Des and PhD courses solely on the basis of CEED scores. These institutes not consider scores of other entrance exams, like NIFT and NID DAT, for admission purposes. The list of CEED participating institutes will be published on the admission portal.

Result-sharing institutes will fill up some of the UG seats based on CEED scores. However, they may also consider scores of other top ecams to fill in rest of the seats.

Q:   Can I get admission in M.Des programme if I do not meet Part A cut-off?
A: 

The qualifying cut-off is the minimum marks a candidate needs to score in the paper to get shortlisted. Part B answer booklets will only be evaluated if the candidate gets shortlisted.

So, if you don't meet Part A cut-off marks, you will not get shortlisted and you Part B answer booklets will not be evaluated. Also, note that only shortlisted candidates will be assigned a merit rank in CEED 2027.

Candidates can apply to CEED 2027 participating institutes after CEED 2027 results. Candidates will be shortlisted for admission based on their merit ranks.

Q:   Are CEED eligibility criteria the same as those required by the participating colleges?
A: 

The candidate must note that IIT Bombay is only responsible for conducting the CEED Entrance exam. Unlike UCEED, it will not conduct any Joint Seat Allotment.  

This means the eligibility criteria prescribed by IIT Bombay are limited to appearing in the CEED exam. Further, the participating institutes of CEED will individually determine the eligibility criteria for the M.Des courses. The eligibility criteria will be uploaded on the admission portals of these institutes.

Q:   How to apply to a CEED participating college?
A: 

The CEED participating institutes will open the application form for counseling on their respective official admission portals. The step-wise admission process to the M.Des programme is given below:
