Getting a job after CSE is a big dream for many students. But placements follow rules. First of all, students must meet all eligibility. No active backlog is allowed. Most companies ask for a CGPA above 7 or 7.5 to sit in their drive. Few top firms even prefer 8 CGPA and more. If a student is already placed, they cannot sit again. Students should also have no suspensions or fines, and regular in activities like DCPD sessions. Along with CGPA, credit score and attendance are also checked.
The process is simple but strict. First is an online test. Then coding round, followed by technical interview, and finally HR interview. So, having 7.5

Yes, you heard that right: the CSE programme of Chandigarh University is ABET accredited. This means that the programme is recognised by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology, an international body that evaluates engineering and tech programs against certain standards of quality.
An ABET accreditation implies the following:
The curriculum meets international standards. You are taught internationally useful skill-sets.
Quality teaching. Their professors, labs, and resources are reviewed.
Employers accept it. If you are seeking employment abroad or even in India, ABET establishes that your degree is recognised internat

The CSE & specialised programs with IBM provide not only curriculum learning but also mentorship, tools, labs like big data lab, predictiveanalytics, AI/ML & planning labs, which give hands-on experience. Faculty having industry experience and certifications helps in bridging the gap between theory and employer expectations. As far as I know, I would like to clarify that Chandigarh University does not offers B.Tech in CSE, it offers B.E. in CSE, which is way better.

It has accreditations from the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) and the National Board of Accreditation (NBA). This means the degree is valued not just in India but all over the world. The dept has advanced labs like the Microsoft Innovation Centre, IBM Software Lab and Virtusa Robotics & Automation Center. Some of the highest salaries go really high, like 1.7 crore internationally and more than 50 LPA in India from companies like Paloalto Networks, Charter Global, and Google. On the other hand, average packages are around 8 to 9 LPA, while several students also get 3.5 to 5 LPA through companies such as Wipro, IBM, and Capgemini. Global recruiters like Microsoft, Amazon, and Accenture visit along with Indian IT giants like HCL, Tech Mahindra and Bosch. It is not the case that everyone gets high packages, but students with

CU's on-campus recruitment for CSE students is quite favourable. The university has equipped students with labs, project work, and IBM-sponsored certifications, which help them during the hiring process. Because CSE with specialisations (like Data Science, AI/ML, Cloud) is offered, recruiters often target students who have exposure to the latest tools and technologies. The placement cell organises mock interviews, coding boot camps, and resume review sessions to help students become more confident. Student batches are large, giving recruiters multiple candidates to choose from.
Also, CU's engineering wing being ranked 31 in NIRF 2025 he
