It would be my suggestion to go for organic chemistry instead go for food science and technology. It would better if you choose Organic chemistry instead of food science bcoz in companies every body asks you the question why did you join in food science instead of chemistry or related groups. Then you should in a position to explain those questions. My suggestion is to go for M.Sc chemistry or organic chemistry. Opportunities in chem & Organic chem are really good in the pharma industry. All the best.
