It would be my suggestion to go for organic chemistry instead go for food science and technology. It would better if you choose Organic chemistry instead of food science bcoz in companies every body asks you the question why did you join in food science instead of chemistry or related groups. Then you should in a position to explain those questions. My suggestion is to go for M.Sc chemistry or organic chemistry. Opportunities in chem & Organic chem are really good in the pharma industry. Explanation is just for your reference to make you understand the concept. When you talk about 12th board physics the question paper consists of derivations and problems to its tip and very less questions on explanation. But chemistry part 1 paper is some what like physics but part 2 has major theory which you can prepare by making charts for organic part. But you must read the explanation too just to clear your concepts. Don't by heart it.

If you take B.Sc in computer science as your subject then you will have to study statistics, electronics, maths and of course computer science.

You have to qualify in both the subjects if you want to pursue engineering. You have no other option.

Personally, I opt for hotel management. It is vocational. chemistry may not produce a direct benefit.
