Well, yes, students whose background is that of Chemistry could ordinarily apply to M.Sc Biochemistry courses in India. Lots of Universities and Colleges would accept B.Sc graduates in Chemistry, as well as in other life science-related fields such as Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Microbiology and others provided their aggregate marks are within a minimum level (usually 50-60%). To pursue an M.Sc. in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from a government college, you typically need a Bachelor's degree in Science (B.Sc.) with Chemistry as a major subject, or a degree in Pharmacy or Medicine, from a recognised university. A minimum aggregate score of 50% (or 45% for reserved categories) is usually required at the undergraduate level. Some universities may also accept candidates with a B.Tech/B.E. in a related field.
