Firstly, make sure you meet the eligibility criteria of the college for the course and if you do, then go for the entrance examination.
Even if your marks are low, then also you can get admission in KIIT by giving their entrance.

A candidate who has passed any undergraduate degree examination with 50% aggregate marks from any recognised university in India or abroad recognised by UGC / AIU are eligible to apply. Applicants who are in the final year of their studies should have secured 50% or above aggregate in all the semesters/years of undergraduate examinations conducted so far. Students writing their final degree examinations in March-May 2018 are also eligible to apply.

You can get admission in Christ University, Bangalore with 62 marks in COMEDK. But, in Dayananda Sagar University, you will get only branches like chemic engineering etc. Hope you got your answer.

The days of regular and fixed type of courses is perhaps over. And as can be expected, private deemed to be Universities are in the forefront of this revolution in introducing off beat or new pattern courses. Christ University has introduced these courses for BA based on this new wave. That's all. If you find the combination interesting, then you can definitely go for any one.
