GATE is not necessarily required for M.Tech. Admissions in India. Candidates can take admission for M.Tech. In civil engineering without GATE scores too. If you don't have GATE scores, you cam aim to apply for M.Tech. Courses in private academic institutions in the country or seek study abroad opportunities as well. IITs and NITs have a provision for direct admission in M.Tech. Courses without the requirement of the GATE exam.

It accepts admission based on the results of a state-level exam, which is followed by counseling. On the basis of previous years' trends in 2019 and 2020, the expected cut off for civil engineering was around 4,000 for admission for different categories in civil engineering.
