MIT Pune and Symbiosis both are affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University (formerly University of Pune) one of the renowned university in India and across the world. MIT Pune
MIT Pune is the first Private Engineering college in Maharashtra established in 1983. As it's among the first very few engineering colleges, it had a very good rank considering the merit and is among the Top 10 colleges in Maharashtra. The cutoffs here are in the range of 160168 out of 200 in CET for the mechanical stream. It also has the three unique streams Polymer, Petroleum and Petrochemical which are Autonomous. So if one wants to get admitted into engineering college MIT can be a good option considering its beautiful campus which is amongst the best in Pune and it's perfect location. MIT also has a sister college which offers management programs but as far as I know Symbiosis will be better choice for MBA. Symbiosis Pune
Symbiosis is an Autonomous institute which offers the best MBA programme. Its amongst the top in India. Symbiosis is a group comprising of total 46 colleges and mostly it's more towards management. Recently it founded Symbiosis Institute of Technology in 2008 (I came to new about this college while writing this answer). So if you are concerned with the engineering Symbiosis institute as it's a new college not much high considering merit. I am not saying it's a bad college but if you have a good merit there are many other reputed colleges for engineering which you can opt. If you are talking about Symbiosis for management it's the best in India.

This College Offers Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in Civil Engineering is a four-year full-time undergraduate program recognized by AICTE and comes under by Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow.
Total Fees for 4 years: approximately INR 221000/-
Hostel Fee Separate. It is approx. INR 11000/- to INR 60000/- per year depending on the room type you choose.
Eligibility: Passed 10+2 examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology Obtained at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidate belonging to reserved category) in the above subjects taken together.
There are six hostels in this institute. Five of it are for boys and girls have the separate one. Names of the hostel are on the basis of famous rivers of India .The capacity of boys hostel is Approx. 1025 triple seated rooms and that of girls hostel is Approx. 205 triple seated rooms. The hostels are in perfect shape and provide all the basic facilities to the students. Each hostel has got its own mess. Food available is delicious and the menu is decided by the students themselves.
The messes are managed by nominated representatives of students under the overall supervisions of wardens.
The newly admitted boy's students are kept in separate hostels away from senior students to avoid ragging.
There is a team of a DSW and warden for each of the hostel. All the student complaints regarding the room maintenance are routed through the warden of the hostel to the concerned authorities.

It is affiliated to Uttar Pradesh Technical University (UPTU), Lucknow and approved by the All India council for technical education (AICTE), New Delhi. It is recognized by Ministry of Human Resources Development of India, New Delhi. The mission of the college is to achieve excellence in imparting technical education. The college is spread over a vast area of 27 acres of land with around 15,000 sq. Civil engineers work on a variety of different projects that include planning, building, and maintaining roads, buildings, bridges, and water systems, while architects work primarily with houses, factories, and similar structures. Civil engineers and architects do, however, work together on some projects. Both Civil Engineering and Architecture are involved in planning and designing structures. Civil engineers and architects may sometimes overlap each other's work, but a good relationship between the two professions will make the construction job more effective and successful. Architects are much better paid and has better scope in career prosperity. Rest is your interest area and capability to take up responsibility. So choose wisely.
