The candidates can apply for the IAS exam within twenty days of the Civil Service Exam notification. Union Public Service Commission releases the official notification in the first week of February every year.

UPSC IAS 2023 notification was released online on February 1, 2023. The IAS applications 2023 were closed on February 21. The candidates can read and understand the IAS eligibility criteria for next year's applications. The candidates have to register for the UPSC exams before applying for the IAS exam. The candidates can see here the steps to apply online (after registration): Most of the details are taken from the registration form. The candidates will be required to upload their passport-size photo and signature and identity proof. Can a candidate appeal against the UPSC result?

The candidate can appeal against the UPSC result but it would be very difficult that the candidate can win against UPSC because the procedure followed by the UPSC is very transparent and the same is submitted in the Courts when asked for by the court. The candidates can win only if they secure more than their category cutoff but still, they were declared failed in the UPSC result.

How many marks are required to clear the IAS exam?

The marks of the last candidate selected in the IAS exam differ each year. It is a competitive exam and the candidates are arranged in the order of their merit. This merit list is compared with the number of vacancies available that year. The Commission select only that many candidates who are required to fulfil the available vacancies. The marks of the last selected candidate in a particular category are called the Cutoff for that category. There are no minimum marks mentioned to get into IAS or IPS. The candidates need to check the cutoff of their category.

Which rank is required to get Indian Administrative Service, IAS in the UPSC result?

Every year, 180 candidates are recruited for the IAS. The candidate from each category is assigned to the IAS according to the rank in their respective category. The General Category candidate under rank 100 can expect to get an IAS. For other categories, it is difficult to ascertain a rank for getting the IAS but for the OBC, if the candidate secures under 150 rank, he or she can get the IAS easily.
