It comprises 2 MCQ-based papers that are conducted on a single day. General studies paper 1, consists of 100 questions of 2 marks each. General Studies paper 2 (CSAT) consists of 80 questions of 2.5 marks each. However, CSAT is a qualifying paper. The UPSC exam pattern for the Mains stage consists of 9 papers conducted over 5 to 7 days. The UPSC exam pattern for the Mains stage consists of 9 papers conducted over 5 to 7 days. Only those candidates who secure at least the declared cut off in General Studies I and 33% in General Studies II in Prelims will be allowed to appear for the Mains Examination. The graduation process must be finished first. As IAS requires applicants to be 21 years old or older, you can then submit an application. All the best.
