If he is academically good in +2MPC, I will recommend Engineering. At a later stage he can always migrate to IAS or Banking and more such options.

You didnt mention your board of examination. In cbse you can reappear for compartment if you fail in some subjects and in next year you can also reaapear for improvement of your previous score/marks

For medical students, their bio part is best and chemistry part is also very good. To get good rank in entrances, your physics must be too strong. So, you must follow following tips:

IB department conducts regular recruitment in both 10+2 and graduation level. If you have special interest in IB, try completing your B.Sc with physics honors and appear the IB test. To be selected in IB with science background, be sure you have a good depth in PCM.
