The list of documents required depends upon the applied course. Further, students are required to submit the following documents at the time admission at IIIT Allahabad:
- Class 10 and 12 passing certificates & mark sheets
- JEE Main/ GATE/ CAT scorecard (for BTech/MTech/MBA respectively)
- Passport-size photograph
- Character certificate and migration certificate (if applicable)
- Income certificate (if applicable)

The admission is entrance-based at the institute. Aspirants are required to apply with a valid score of the course-specific accepted entrance examination in order to apply. The accepted entrance exams are JEE Main, CAT/ XAT/ CMAT/ MAT/ GMAT, GATE, etc. Further, the seat allotment process for BTech and MTech is through JoSAA and CCMT counselling, respectively.

Yes, Allahabad University offers a three-year full-time BCA programme in self-financed and general mode. This programme is spread over three years and six semesters. To be eligible for this course, students must have completed their Class 12 with Science or Commerce stream. In case the student has passed Class 12 from a recognised board other than the Science/ Commerce, they must have studied Mathematics/ Statistics/ IT/ CS/ Information Science as one of the subjects in their Class 12. Final selection to BCA, however, is subject to CUET UG exam conducted by NTA.

The exam paper is divided into two levels. Level-I of the CRET test consists of two papers. Paper I has 50 objective-type questions of 2 marks each. Objective type 25 questions are from Research Methodology and 25 questions are subject-specific. There is no negative marking. Paper-2 is subjective with small, medium and long answer-type questions. The total marks of both papers are 300. Additionally, the application fee for the exam is INR 1,600 for unreserved and OBC category candidates and INR 800 for SC/ ST and PwD candidates.

Selection to PhD at Allahabad University is offered on the basis of one among CRET/ UGC NET/ CSIR NET/ GATE exams In addition to these entrances, students must have completed their UG and PG degrees in the relevant stream with at least 55% aggregate. The CRET exam conducted for PhD admission consists of two papers of a total of 300 marks. This exam is conducted for 43 subjects with 734 seats out of which 316 seats are department/centres of the university and the remaining 418 seats are for the constituent colleges of the university.

Followed by applications, students are required to go through the course-specific selection rounds. After the selection rounds are over, course-wise counselling is conducted again by the admission conducting body or a final merit list is released by the University with the names of the shortlisted applicants.
- For the courses offered by Allahabad University where admission is merit-based, merit lists are released using the scores of the last qualifying exams
- For others which offer CUET-UG, PGAT or other entrance-based admissions, such as MBA, course-wise merit lists (created using entrance scores) are again declared on the official websit
