To get admission to the University of Bonn, a few admission requirements have to be met. For bachelor’s courses, the applicants should have obtained a secondary school qualification. Whereas, for admission to postgraduate courses, the applicants are required to have an undergraduate degree. The documents that an Indian student must have in order to apply to this university are:

• Copy of the passport
• CV
• Evidence of German language proficiency
• Evidence of English language proficiency (For a few courses such as Molecular Biomedicine, Media Studies, Musicology / Sound Studies, Economics major, etc.)
• University entrance qualification (as equivalent to foreign qualifications)
• Academic transcripts
• APS certificate

There are two scholarships that are offered by the University of Bonn. These scholarships are offered to basically outstanding students. A few details of these scholarships are given below:

• Deutschlandstipendium: Gifted and responsible students are offered this scholarship by Bonn University and funding is for one academic year. Each scholarship recipient is given EUR 300 per month
• Ließem Scholarship: This scholarship is offered to talented students who have lived in the Bonn / Rhein-Sieg for at least 5 years. Each scholarship recipient is given EUR 300 a month. Also note that the recipients of this scholarship should not be older than 27 when their funding starts.

The University of Bonn and RWTH Aachen University are both public universities located in Germany. Bonn University is one of the Top 100 Universities in the world, ranking at #91 position as per Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings. RWTH Aachen University is placed at #90 position as per THE World University Rankings. In other words, these two universities are a few of the top German universities that made in the Top 10 German Universities as per 2024 THE rankings.
