NERIM does not actually rank high in national management institutions; it is usually a Tier 2 college. Although it gets quite some recognition in management education in the Northeast region of India, exact rankings depend on the survey or year done by NIRF or any private educational group. Even though NERIM may not rank among the top rank of all institutions in the country, it is valued in terms of its practical approach and the experience of its faculty members and industry connections. For the most updated information about rankings, check educational resources and official reports.

The pursuit of an MBA at NERIM can be moderately challenging in terms of student background and commitment. The course is multidisciplinary, which covers various management aspects, very analytical, and communicative. Even though the curriculum is practical and industry-related, the amount of work done is challenging, especially on projects and exams.
However, the support faculty and peer network will alleviate learning. Success in the program, however, often lies on one's commitment to the involvement of coursework, group activities, and internship opportunities.

NERIM is generally classified as a Tier 2 institution. While it has established a good reputation in the northeastern Indian region for its management and professional courses, it does not carry the same national ranking or recognition as Tier 1 institutions like IIMs or top national universities. NERIM is quite practical and offers good placement opportunities, which are attractive for students in the region. But for those who wish to be highly recognised Tier 1, it is not the best option.

Both of them have excellent placement records but attract students with different profiles.
NERIM averages around ?7.8 LPA. Some of the campus recruiter companies were TCS and Flipkart. Similarly, Assam Down Town University has also built some great industry connections, averaging approximately ?5-6 LPA. Healthcare and management sectors were some of the focus areas.
