NLU Assam: Courses, Fees, Admission 2025, Placements, Cutoff

Based on the results of the CLAT entrance exam, NLU Assam grants admission. Registration for the BA LLB (Hons) and LLM programmes at NLU Assam is done through CLAT. CNLU's official website is where candidates must apply for CLAT. Those who have registered must take the CLAT entrance exam in order to be admitted to the BA, LLB, and LLM programmes. Following that, in order to be considered for admission to the BA LLB (Hons) and LLM programmes, candidates must first go through the CLAT counselling process. Candidates must accept their seat assignment in order for it to be confirmed; otherwise, the allocation will be frozen.

CLAT 2024 dates for admission to NLU Assam are out. Students seeking admission to UG and PG courses offered at National Law Universities (NLUs) can apply for CLAT 2024 on or before Nov 3, 2023 since the applications are currently ongoing. Only students who fill out the application form as well as, pay the fee are issued admit cards to appear for CLAT exam 2024. Students can log in using their registered mobile number and password to update their preferences in CLAT 2024 application form. 

Conducted in pen-and-paper mode, candidates have to attempt questions from English, Current Affairs and GK, Legal Reasoning, Logical Reasoning and Quantitative Mathematics for UG course, and from Constitutional Law, and other law subjects like Jurisprudence, Torts, IPC, CrPC, CPC, Family Law, and IPR. For admission 2024 at NLU Assam, the exam is scheduled for Dec 3, 2023.

Candidates who are willing to get into NLU Assam for the one-year LLM or five-year LLB course must specific the desired course in the application form.

For admission to NLU Assam for the LLB or LLM course, the result of CLAT 2024 can be expected by the last week of December 2023 After the release of result, the exam takers will be able to download their CLAT scorecards from the official website using their login credentials for NLU Assam admission via CLAT counselling and seat allotment.

CLAT 2024 result contains details like the candidate's overall and sectional scores, and merit rank. Those who will qualify CLAT 2024 by meeting the required minimum cutoff as per the merit list are called for counselling process for seat allotment.

The NLU Assam average package offered during the 2023 placement drive is yet to be published on the official website. The BA LLB programme at National Law University in Assam is highly regarded. The course will last for five years. The placement information for the 2023 graduating class is still pending. On its official website, the institute has, nevertheless, made available the NIRF report for 2023. One BA LLB (Hons) student was placed at NLU Assam placements in 2021, according the NIRF report 2023. Additionally, INR 7.63 LPA was the median package provided to BA LLB students during NLU Assam placements in 2021. NLUJAA admission 2024 to its LLM course is done through CLAT score. Candidates who wish to pursue BA LLB at NLU Assam must have obtained a minimum of 45% in class 12 exam. The basic eligibility criteria for admission to LLB is that the candidate must have passed 10+2 or equivalent with above mentioned marks from any recognised board/council. Candidates who may be appearing for their qualifying examination in March/ April, 2024 are also eligible to appear. Candidate must submit result of the qualifying examination (i.e., 10+2) at the time of admission, failing which the candidate shall be ineligible for admission. Further the entrance exam for admission to NLU is CLAT.

The official college website currently has not released any information regarding the placement of LLM. Details regarding the placements of BAs and LLBs are available in the NIRF report. The placement information for the 2023 graduating class is still pending in the official site. On its official website, the institute has, nevertheless, made available the NIRF report for 2023. For admission to one-year LLM or five-year LLB at NLU Assam, the CLAT test will be conducted on Dec 3, 2023. Aspirants of NLU Assam are required to appear for the exam in offline pen-paper mode at the allotted test centres. Candidates can complete the CLAT registration 2024 until Nov 3, 2023 in online mode. The exam will take place in more than 125 cities listed as CLAT 2024 test centres in 22 states and UTs. • The CLAT question paper for undergraduate courses has total 120 passage-based objective-type questions from five subjects - English Language,  Logical Reasoning,  Legal Reasoning, CLAT Affairs including General Knowledge and Quantitative Techniques. 

• The CLAT LLM question paper has both objective- and subjective-type questions. However, last year, the CLAT Consortium removed the descriptive section from the LLM paper. Check complete CLAT 2024 exam pattern for LLM.

The placement details are not available for the recent batch 2023 on the official website. NLU Assam offers good placements for its BA LLB course. However, the institute has released the NIRF report 2023 on its official website. According to the NIRF report 2023, 1 BA LLB student was placed during NLU Assam placements 2021. The National Law School and Judicial Academy, Assam Act, 2009, which was passed by the Assamese government, founded the National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam. The University provides a five-year integrated course B.A., LL.B. (Hons.) Five-Year Integrated Course, in which the first two years of study combine law courses with Social Science disciplines like Economics, History, Political Science, and Sociology as well as an English language course. A one-year LL.M. (Master of Laws) degree programme is also offered by the university. There are two hostels: one for boys and one for girls. Both have a smoke-free kitchen, a large eating area, a reading hall, a yoga studio, a prayer hall, a library, and a dining area. Hostels can accommodate single or double occupancy.

Candidates aspiring for NLU Assam admission to BA LLB and LLM courses must have a valid score in CLAT in order to be eligible for the further CLAT Counselling for the final admission. By passing the National Law School and Judicial Academy, Assam Act, 2009, the Assam government established the National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam (NLUJAA). It's one of India's autonomous law schools. In 2021 the institute was ranked 20 among the law universities by NIRF. The NLUJAA offers a one-year degree curriculum in LLM and a five-year integrated course in BA-LLB (Hons). A PhD in law is also offered by the university.
