Himachal Pradesh National Law University does not offer direct admission. Candidates are offered seat in the UG and PG courses of the university based on CLAT score. Besides, NLU Shimla conducts an entrance exam for PhD admission. Candidates fulfiling both eligibility and selection criteria are offered admission in the university.

Arni University admits students to its BTech programm under two criteria. Candidates with a minimum of 45% in Class 12 with relevant Science subjects must apply only if they have a valid JEE (Main)/HP-CET score. Candidates scroing over 55% in Class 12 can apply without an entrance exam score. A relaxation of 5% in the aforementioned eligibility criteria is given to the candidates belonging to the SC/ST category. The application process for candidates applying under both the criteria is the same. Arni University accepts the scores of JEE (Main) and HP-CET for BTech admission. However, candidates scoring over 55% (General category) in Class 12 can get direct admission to the BTech programme of Arni University. Such candidates are not required to appear for an entrance exam. In case of candidates belonging to the SC/ST category, the minimum qualification required for direct admission is a minimum of 50% in Class 12 with relevant Science subjects.
