For students belonging to the OBC AI quota, a cutoff rank between 562 and 922 is considered to be a safe rank for MSc admission at IIT Mandi. The better (lower) your rank, the higher is the probability of securing a seat at IIT Mandi for MSc. This is the overall cutoff range for MSc admission, including all the rounds and specialisations for the OBC category students. Chitkara University gives around 30 to 60 seats in each B.Tech branch.
At the Punjab campus, maximum branches have 30 seats.
CSE with AI has 60 seats.
At the Himachal campus, primary branches like CSE and ECE have 60 seats.
Admission is based on twelfth marks or JEE rating and personal interview.

With a JEE Main score of 249 in 2025, admission to NIT Hamirpur for any B.Tech branch is not feasible. Typically, NIT Hamirpur's closing ranks for the general category in popular branches like Computer Science and Engineering range from around 12 thousand to 22 thousand. For other branches, the closing ranks are generally well below 50 thousand. Since a score of 249 corresponds to a rank much higher than these cutoffs, it would be very difficult to secure a seat in any branch at NIT Hamirpur this year.
