UBS (Universal Business School) is based in Mumbai. Yes, with 80 percentile in CAT you have a chance to get selected. We have 5 criteria:
1. Academics,
2. Extra-curricular Activities
3. Leadership
4. Communication
5. Entrance Exam each has 20% weightage.

Placement is a function of 3 factors. Companies, Students and the B-School. The B-School needs to get the companies and teach the students. B-Schools cannot give the interview. The preparation needs to be done by the students. If they prepare well, they will crack the interviews. It's like saying why do all students not get 90% in their exams. Those that prepare get 90%, those that do not put in the effort do not get 90%. It boils down to the effort of the students. Companies come to campus to hire.

You can fill the admission form based on your Diploma marks average. The admissions process is conducted by DTE. After that, according to your preferences and marks, a college will be allotted to you. There are different merits for different branches. To check cut-offs, you'll have to visit DTE website.

As per your %ile, you would clear the cut-off as per last year trends, and then it depends on your GD/PI.

As per last year trends, the cut-off of CAT was 86 percentile. So, decide accordingly.

Sorry, I don't have any Idea about Sydenham college as such. But as per my knowledge, Sydenham accept scores more than 99% in MAT as it is the top most college. So, there acceptance ratio is also high.
