Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Patna admission is completely an online process. Admission to all undergraduate (UG) courses will be made in the odd semester of each session, at the first-year level, through a Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) conducted jointly by all the IITs. For admission to the BTech course, the institute accepts JEE Advanced scores, followed by JoSAA counseling. Candidates must also fulfil the eligibility criteria to be able to apply for the BTech course.

As per the media reports, the highest offered during phase 1 of IIT Patna placements 2023 stood at INR 82.05 LPA. According to the placement 2022 data, there was a rise of 68.47% in the average package offered during BTech placements 2022 as compared with 2021.
