Based on JEE Main rankings, the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) handles counselling and seat distribution. The Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination, or BCECE, is required for admission to a number of Bihar-based engineering and medical schools; NITs are exempt. However, through JoSAA counselling, aspirants from Bihar can use their JEE Main marks to get into NIT Patna.
