Candidates who want NIT Patna admissions have to clear entrance exam and also need to fulfill the eligibility criteria. There is no provision for direct admission. So candidates need valid scores of national-level entrance tests. There are in all 10 departments that offer 40+ courses. The flagship course of NIT Patna is BTech which admits students on the basis of JEE Main scores. Hence, candidates cannot get direct admission at NIT Patna. Getting into the flagship programme of NIT Patna i.e. BTech requires passing JEE Main. The cutoffs are usually competitive due to large number of applicants and less no. seat availability.
