For doing B.Tech after Diploma in EXTC (ECE) you need to appear for an entrance test for lateral entry in the 2nd year B.Tech. And if you can do well in admission test - your 1st option should CSE/IT in the counselling session. In my opinion, you should opt for CSE as the 1st and IT as the 2nd option. B.Tech in CSE/IT is much better than B.Sc IT/BCA followed by MCA. You better think twice and take a decision accordingly.

After completing B.sc IT, you can seek jobs through your college by campus recruitment or by seeking for a job by yourself. No or very less networking with other students in regular college as in B.Sc. (pursuing)
Also, the papers are considered a little at par than regular distance courses so prepare well. Rest is fine.
