The ideal preparation time for CUET is around 6-8 months before the exam. This timeline allows students to align their CUET preparation with board exam studies efficiently. During the academic year, dedicating 1-2 hours daily to CUET preparation helps build a steady foundation, with the study time gradually increasing as the exam approaches. After the board exams, students should focus intensely on CUET by solving mock tests and revising critical topics. In the last 2-3 months, practicing at least one full-length mock test every day is essential to improve speed, accuracy, and confidence. If the board exam schedule becomes demanding, s

Balancing CUET and board exams requires strategic planning to manage both theory-based learning and MCQ-based practice effectively. Here are some tips that students can follow to balance CUET and board exam preparation:

  • Identify Common Topics: Start with subjects that overlap between CUET and board syllabus (e.g., Physics, Chemistry, Math, or English). This saves time and builds a strong foundation for both exams.

If the CUET domain subjects differ from your board exam subjects, it may require extra effort to study topics that are not part of your regular curriculum. You'll need to focus on preparing specifically for those domain subjects through additional resources such as textbooks, online courses, mock tests, and study materials designed for CUET. Creating a separate study plan for CUET-specific subjects can help ensure you cover all necessary topics while managing your board exam preparation. Balancing time and diversifying your study sources is key to success in both.

The difficulty of CUET and board exams varies based on a student's strengths and focus.

CUET is designed as an entrance exam for university admissions, testing aptitude, subject knowledge, and critical thinking in a competitive setting. It involves time management under pressure, especially with MCQ-based questions. On the other hand, board exams emphasize in-depth theoretical knowledge and writing skills across a broader curriculum. For some, board exams may seem more difficult due to their comprehensive nature, while others may find CUET more challenging because of its competitive intensity.

For pursuing B.Sc. through the CUET exam, candidates typically need to select science-related domain subjects depending on their desired field of study. Key subjects often include:

  • Physics
  • Chemistry
  • Biology (for life sciences)
  • Mathematics (for physical sciences)
  • Environmental Science (for interdisciplinary studies)

In addition to domain subjects, candidates must choose one language from the list of 13 available languages, and may also opt for the general test, if applicable. Ensure that subject mapping aligns with the B.Sc. programme requirements of your preferred university.
