Vocational courses focus more on practical knowledge whereas degree courses help students gain in depth understanding of the subject. The duration of vocational courses is comparatively less and hence lesser the cost. While vocational courses target specific career option, a degree course can open GATE to many different career options. It totally depends on students' choice whether they want skill enhancement or an indepth theoretical knowledge.

In India, there's generally no upper age limit for undergraduate degrees. Most universities allow admission even after 27 years. Only a few entrance-based courses like JEE or CLAT may have age restrictions. So yes, you can definitely join a regular college after 27, especially through state or private universities without entrance barriers.
