UPES is considered good only for petroleum branch.
As per my opinion, in order to pursue B.Tech, you should choose either Graphic Era University or DIT, Dehradun. Every year, Graphic Era and DIT, both provide good placements. Companies which visit every year are HCL, Infosys, Syntel, Accenture, etc.

BFIT is one of the best colleges in India to pursue B.Sc in forestry.

The Uttarakhand Technical University is one of best universities nowadays and Tulas placement of 2016/17 was good for CSE, IT & Electronics branch. Lots of software companies visited this year. Tulas also provided lots of pool campus this year. Placement depends on your ability because every year in Uttarakhand lots of pool campus takes place.
As from the point of view of education, COER is considered as best college in UTU as I too studied in COER, but placement is not so good.
In terms of placement, Graphic Era is the best university but its fee structure is very high.
DIT, Dehradun is also a good college.

VIT is the best option. It is the oldest which makes it more famous. Value of certificate after completing MBA from VIT is more as compared to UPES.

The ranking of a business school depends on the placement package. You can prefer UPES. The highest package offered last year at UPES was Rs.14 LPA. The highest package offered at PIBM - Pune was Rs.11 LPA.

Yes, Petroleum - Dehradun is a good college for engineering. Thus, this college is one of the good institute in the city and the placement record is good. It has different field of engineering and has good scope.
