The BDS course is better as it allows you to become a dentist, the equivalent of a doctor. The BPT course is also good at its place; here is a brief comparison between the two:
1. Course curriculum: With a BDS degree, you can become a specialist in dental surgery and treatment. You study electrotherapy, physiology, exercise therapy, and related courses in BPT.
2. Fees: The fees for the BDS are comparably higher than the BPT fee. In government colleges, the cost of a BDS programme can reach Rs. 6 lacs, whereas the cost of a BPT course at private medical schools ranges from Rs. 60,000 to Rs. 6 lacs.
