With 226 marks getting a BDS course is easy than MBBS course.
You have to register yourself in mcc.nic.in during councelling and make a list of colleges you want to attend from as wanted college in first place and least wanted college in the last.
Based on your rank and your preferences of colleges you will be alloted to a seat.

With 553 marks you are sure to get government college for BDS. All government colleges have similar fee structure which is around 30000 per annum, so I suggest you to consider best college instead of fee structure.

Presently, the cut off is around 430marks for OBC general quota.
From previous year's cut offs for MGM is 350+ for general category even for SC or OBC category is 300+.

Yes, definitely. Cut off for BDS in government college will be around 450 marks for general quota so you are sure to get a BDS seat in government college.
You can even try for MBBS if you are female as there is additional 10% quota for girls in every government college.

As far as round 1 is considered, the cut off is around rank 2,20,000 for general quota BDS (male).
In further rounds, it may reach till 2.5 lakhs for male for female it may even reach 3 lakhs based on previous years analysis.

The latest cutoff information for BDS at Himachal Institute of Dental science was as follows.
For General category candidates cutoff percentage is 50% and cutoff score range 701-147 marks.
For general Physically handicapped category candidates ,the cutoff percentage is 45% and cutoff score range is 146-129 marks.
For SC/ST/OBC Candidate cutoff percentage is 40% and cutoff score range is 128- 113 marks.
For OBC/SC/ST- PH category candidates the cutoff percentage is 40% and cut off score range is 128-113 marks.
