No, the candidate is not allowed to carry the question paper of the NID exam with them after conclusion of the exam. In fact, the question papers of NID will not be released neither for that Prelims or that Mains. The reason for the non release of the question paper is because the NID question papers are highly subjective in nature. The question paper of NID DAT will be set in English language. Note that the candidate can download unofficial versions of the NID question papers released by the coaching institutes. These question papers will be mostly memory-based, compiled with the help of questions shared by candidates.

The answer sheets of NID will be released by the National Institute of Design (NID) only after the admissions process is complete. No request for answer sheets during the admissions process will be entertained. Note that the answer sheets will be available for one year after the announcement of the final result. The answer sheets can be availed on payment of INR 1000/- separately per exam. Note that to make a request, along with the fee payment, the candidate is also required to upload a copy of their admit cards duly attested by the Invigilator with the seal of the Test Centre.

The sample papers are usually solved as part of ones exam preparation at a very early stage. However, mock tests are taken in the last few weeks leading up to the exam. Unlike sample papers, the main purpose of the mock tests is to give the candidate an exam-like ambience so that the candidate gets an idea as to how the actual exam would be. The mock tests often have a timer on, and the candidate will have to solve the paper within the given time. That being said, mock tests may contain fewer questions than the actual exam. Candidate will be provisionally allowed to appear for NID DAT Prelims, if shortlisted, based on the information given by candidate in NID DAT application form. It is the responsibility of candidate to provide/upload valid information and certificates at the time of submitting application form. 

Details entered by candidate will be verified during NID counseling. On verification, if the information given by candidate is found to be incorrect or invalid, he can be disqualified. Decision of NID will be final and binding in this case.

No, the date of birth cannot be changed in the NID application correction window. The candidate will also not be able to edit their name, the programme applied for admission, registered email id, and phone number, in the application form. Note that these details are entered by the candidate at the time of registering for the NID DAT exam. No, NID application fee once paid is not refunded under any circumstances. So, before filling out the form, the candidate must be sure whether they want to appear in the exam or not. NID Application Fee for B. Des programme

While filling out the NID application form, candidates have to enter their personal, academic, and personal information. They are also required to upload a photograph and signature, and caste Certificate if applicable. In case of candidates seeking admission under reserved categories, they also need to upload a category Certificate. PwD category candidates will also have to upload the relevant Certificate.

The category and PwD certificates should be in PDF format and max 2 MB.

Meanwhile, the photograph and signature should in JPG/JPEG format and within 75-100 KB.

The application form for NID DAT has to be filled online. There is no way to fill the form in any other way. The application link is provided on the official admission portal of NID when application is released.

There are currently 18 participating institutes of NIFT 2025. However, there is one combined NID application form for admission to all the participating colleges. The candidate will be able to select their choice of colleges, in the order of preference, at the time of counseling. Note that the option to select college preferences will only be available for B. Des applicants. M.Des applicants are not required to enter campus preferences. The application form for NID that 2025 will open sometime in September 2024.
