Design Entrance Exam

No, you cannot take CEED just after class 12th. The eligibility criteria for CEED exam is:
There is no bar to either the age of the candidate or the number of times a candidate can participate. The minimum academic qualification for appearing in the examination is a Bachelor's degree in Design, Architecture, Fine Arts or Engineering from a recognized college or university of India.
All qualified candidates with a valid CEED examination score become eligible to apply for admission to various design programs under IITs and IISc. A valid CEED score does not, however, promise admission to the desired institute. Candidates are always required to appear for a second test known as the Design Aptitude Test followed by an interview prior to final selection by the respective institutes.

NIFT entrance exam comprises of Creative Ability Test (CAT) and General Ability Test (GAT). Aspirants who clear these tests are shortlisted to appear for the Situation Test as well as Group Discussion and Personal Interview round.

The General Ability Test for B.Des and M.Des will have the following segments:
Quantitative Ability - 25 Questions
Communication Ability - 35 Questions
English Comprehension - 30 Questions
Analytical Ability - 30 Questions
General Knowledge and Current Affairs - 30 Questions
The General Ability Test for B.FTech, MFM, M.Des AND M.FTech will have the following segments:
Quantitative Ability - 30 Questions for B.FTech and M.FTech and 10 Questions for MFM
Communication Ability and English Comprehension - 45 Questions for B.FTech and M.FTech and 50 Questions for MFM
Analytical and Logical Ability - 25 Questions for B.FTech, M.FTech and MFM
General Knowledge and Current Affairs - 25 Questions for B.FTech, M.FTech and MFM
Case Study - 25 Questions for B.FTech and M.FTech and 40 Questions for MFM
CAT
The Creative Ability Test (CAT) assesses an applicants' intuition skill, observation ability, innovative and design ability. Use of colour and illustrative abilities are also important here.
