For DM Gastroenterology candidates must have completed an MD (Doctor of Medicine) in General Medicine or Pediatrics.

Also they must pass NEET SS. Strong clinical knowledge and hands-on experience in internal medicine are also important for selection.

Hope this helped your query! All the best!

A DM is a three-year postgraduate medical degree that focuses on a specific medical speciality. It's considered the highest medical degree a doctor can achieve. DM in Medical courses are typically pursued after completing an MD (Doctor of Medicine).

No,

A doctorate of Medicine (DM in Medical) does not perform surgery. A DM is a post-master of Medicine (MD) degree that involves advanced study and research in a specialised area of medicine.

No, you cannot directly pursue a DM (Doctorate of Medicine) after completing MBBS. DM is a super-specialty course that requires candidates to first complete an MD (Doctor of Medicine) in a relevant medical field.

After obtaining an MD, you can then apply for a DM in Medical in your chosen super-specialty.

No you cannot directly do a DM in General Medicine (which is a super specialty in conventional modern medicine) after a BPT and MD in Alternative Medicine.

A DM needs an MD or DNB in General Medicine usually following an MBBS degree.

It is highest level of training for non surgical doctors which helps them to identify and manage very difficult or rare diseases that others cannot.

Pursuing DM makes doctors be advanced in their career. It also leads to high paying roles like -

  • consultant
  • teaching in colleges
  • advanced clinical research

It is for those who want to be the expert in their chosen field also providing the best possible care for critical patients.
