The duration of IIM Trichy DPM/PhD course is five-years. The maximum duration by which a candidate must complete the course is seven years. In the first eighteen months of the course, candidates have to complete a coursework, which includes study of general management subjects, advanced courses in the respective areas of specialisation, fundamental courses for management research, and programmes in research methodologies. Furthermore, aspirants have to earn at least a minimum of 54 credits.

Indian Institute of Management, Trichy offer a full-time Doctoral Programme in Management (DPM). This course focuses on research training. It is offered in eight specialisations, including Marketing, Finance & Accounting, Stratergy, etc. IIM Trichy PhD applications are accepted via online mode. Candidates fulfilling the eligibility criteria are shortlisted based on educational records and scores of CAT/GMAT/GRE/IIMB Test/UGC-JRF. Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute (VJTI) offers doctoral course i.e. Phd courses under seven specialisations which comprises of Phd in Computer Engineering, Phd in Production Engineering, Phd in Civil Engineering, etc. The duration of Phd course in any of its specialisation is five years.

1. Atleast one or two research papers published in PhD
2. Your supervisor approves your work and thinks you have done enough progress work.
3. You need to present your work in department in front of teachers
4. Than you need to write thesis and submit it to the iisc.
5. Than they will review your thesis. They may ask you to correct somethings in thesis. Than you need to modify it and again send them for review
6. Once the thesis review is done. You need to defend your thesis in front of iisc teachers. If your review is done than defense will be passed easily. After this they will reward you Ph.D. degree.
